Tandem skydiving. Right. When you make that jump, what are you going to get out of it, anyway? What’s in it for you? Is it just going to be like a roller-coaster ride, where you roll up at the end with mussed hair and a giggle, then get on with your regularly-scheduled life? Is it like a bungee jump, where you get the added value of a chiropractic adjustment when you get pushed off a platform? We’d like to explain to you that skydiving does way more than all of that–and describe the ways and hows. You might just be amazed.
Taking carefully measured risks and then accomplishing something that scares the “bajeezus” out of you is actually a really healthy thing. Okay, it might be cliché to say that growth only occurs when you’re outside of your comfort zone–but heck, it’s absolutely true. Skydiving’s magical quality is that it brings you well outside your comfort zone in a way that feels oh-so-out-there but is, statistically, safer than your morning commute. Personal development, here you come!
We meet psych pros all the time that tell us they wish they could prescribe skydiving to their patients. (Heck, life coaches often do!) The rush of natural chemicals that comes absolutely naturally from the experience of a skydive will jolt you out of any rut you may have fallen into and help you see the challenges you’re facing in a fresh new light. The boost takes days to wear off. You’ll catch yourself smiling long, long after you’ve landed.
If you make sure to get the photos and videos of your jump, you’ll have hard proof of your accomplishment. As opposed to other challenges that come and go without leaving evidence behind, you’ll be able to gaze upon those images whenever you’re feeling insecure and think, I did this. I really did it. You’ll have fewer reasons to hold yourself back from the brave efforts in the rest of your life because you know you can take on fear and win. If you’re like most people, you’ll smile every time you look at those photos–as they’ll represent one of the happiest moments in your life.
This sounds super-cheesy, but hear us out: Leonardo da Vinci so memorably said, “[…] once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.” As you go about your life after that first tandem skydive, you’ll look up at the sky and smile–because there you have been and there you will return. It’ll leave its mark on your heart for always.
We’d love to be there when you fall in love with the sky–and hear all about the unexpected gifts you discover in your skydive. We want to be a part of your story.
