Meet Mirko

I did my first tandem jump in Serbia where I grew up. I wanted just to try that and check it off my bucket list. Something magical happened that day, and from that day my whole life went in another direction. The jump was great, but the most significant moment was seeing my videographer fly around me with a big smile on his face reaching out to give me a high-five; that really blew my mind.

When we landed, I still couldn’t believe what had just happened. All that was on my mind was ‘oh my God they are flying and moving and doing what they want in the sky!’ My mind was blown and at that moment I decided that I had do the same, I wanted to be a skydiving instructor and videographer. I stayed at the DropZone until dark that day, watching skydivers do their thing and hanging out with people on the DZ, the energy was great and everyone was in such good spirits. At the end of that day, I collected all information I needed and I signed up for skydiving classes.

At that time I had a business and office job, and I found myself sitting in that office on long work days just thinking about the weekend coming up and skydiving. I realized that I was working and living just to be able to get to the weekends and skydive. That’s when I knew something needed to change, so I decided to sell my business and fully dedicate myself to this new life. My whole life I was involved in sports, and another reason I fell in love with skydiving is that it is on a different level than anything I had experienced until then, it was a new challenge for me. Unfortunately, I could not finish my skydiving license and rating in Serbia. In the summer of 2020, I decided to come to Wisconsin Skydiving Center to continue my dream of becoming an instructor.

I found myself a new home here at Wisconsin Skydiving Center. My dream became a reality, and now I am a skydiving instructor and coach. Jumping with students and bringing them that same experience that changed my life so much. I will never forget my first jump and it gives me great pleasure to take people on their first skydive!
