Meet Matt
Matt did his first tandem skydive when he was 16. At the time, it required a notarized parent signature for a minor to make a skydive. So it only made sense for him to drive to Southern Indiana with best friends and jump tandem on Mother’s Day. He was instantly hooked, but had to wait several years until he could return to the sky.
Matt joined the Milwaukee Fire Department and finally had the income to learn to skydive. A coworker who skydives told him there is only one place to learn to skydive, Wisconsin Skydiving Center.
“When I walked into the hangar I was a stranger. A couple hours later I left feeling part of the family. For me skydiving is a release. The second I jump from the plane I forget all about life at home. House projects, bills, work stressors all go away.”
After a few hundred jumps Matt became a video flyer for tandems and settled in. He fell in love with the experience of witnessing somebody’s first skydive and being able to send them home with proof of their accomplishment.
